Goat Horn Ammonite (DOUVILLEICERAS )

Cretaceous age Ammonite's from Madagascar. Around 120 Million years old. Known as the "Goat horn" Type of Ammonite because when they were first discovered in the 1800s they were thought to look like goat horns.

Ammonite's get their name from the Egyptian god Ammon (AMUN) because it was thought that their coiled shape looks like the Horns of Amun.
